01Our field

The plant isn’t one sector among others. It’s the only thing we do.

While large firms spread industry expertise across fifteen sectors, MT-Transition operates on industrial ground only: production, supply chain, quality, maintenance, and industrial IT (CIO), ERP, MES, OT cybersecurity. We speak your language and know your constraints.

“Managers who have run plants: not consultants in suits.”

Why industry requires a specialized firm

On a production line, a wrong decision translates into hours of downtime, measurable non-conformities, and contractual delivery delays with penalties (line stop, OEE, OTIF, service rate). The profiles we present have already held the position in your sector, and the manager is credible from the very first walk of the floor.

What distinguishes industrial interim management from other forms of interim

Interim management exists, in similar forms, across every economic sector (services, distribution, finance) but the specifically industrial version follows, on the ground, sensibly different rules. On a production site, a poorly calibrated decision translates into hours of line downtime, measurable non-conformities, and contractual delivery delays with penalties. The industrial interim manager must therefore combine two skills rarely found together elsewhere: the fast decision-making capacity common to any interim assignment, and a fine-grained operational knowledge of the industrial environment, cadences, quality standards, safety constraints, the balance of power with customers. It is this dual requirement that explains why an interim manager coming from the services sector, however competent otherwise, generally takes several weeks to become fully operational on an industrial site: a delay that most industrial situations simply cannot afford.

Mounir Telkass, Chairman & founder

A generalist industrial engineer (CESI), Mounir began his career in automotive supplier quality: the shop floor, the lines, the non-conformities. He then worked for a staffing firm and later a recruitment firm, always within industry: two worlds that taught him what “delivering” really means for an industrial client. This triple background (technical, staffing, recruitment) led him to found MT-Transition in 2018. He still personally runs field assignments today: supplier crisis management at Emotors, quality turnaround on the Ariane 6 program at ArianeGroup, supplier task force at Chantiers de l’Atlantique on the MSC Virtuosa cruise ship, operational excellence in industrial production. A firm that only knows industry by hearsay can’t select the right profiles.

“I don’t source résumés. I deploy executives who have run plants, because I know what it costs when a line stops.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about interim management

Short answers to the questions industrial executives ask before calling a firm.

What is an interim management firm?

An interim management firm places an experienced executive in your company for a set period, ready to act from day one: to replace a departing director, lead a turnaround, a start-up or a transformation. MT-Transition is a French firm 100% dedicated to industry, for assignments of 3 to 18 months.

How do you choose an interim management firm?

Four criteria make the difference: expertise in your sector, speed (profiles presented within days), a single point of contact who knows the shop floor, and a replacement guarantee if the manager is not the right fit. See our guide: how to choose an interim management firm.

How quickly can an interim manager start?

An expert calls you back within 2 business hours and presents 3 targeted profiles within 72 hours. Interviews take place the same week and the manager starts the following week: usually one to two weeks in total.

How much does an interim manager cost?

Interim managers are billed at a daily rate, generally between €800 and €2,800 excl. VAT per day depending on the role, seniority and urgency of the assignment. Rates by role.

When should you bring in an interim manager?

When a key position becomes vacant with no successor ready, when a plant slips (quality, delivery, safety), for a turnaround or restructuring, or to lead a critical project: line start-up, production transfer, ERP roll-out.

Does the interim manager need an employment contract?

No. The interim manager works under a service agreement with the firm: they do not join your headcount, and the assignment ends on the agreed date.
